LigTel Communications COVID-19 Statement

LigTel has been a cornerstone company in Ligonier and Noble County for over 120 years.  Our commitment to the community and our customers is something we are proud of and don’t take for granted.  With the developments from the past week and the declaration by the World Health Organization that the COVID-19 is a pandemic and the President declaring a National Emergency, we will be making temporary changes to some of our policies.  First and foremost, the health and safety of our communities, customers, employees and their families are of utmost importance.  We are also committed to continuing to provide the essential services needed through these uncertain and difficult times. 

Beginning today, March 16, 2020, we will limit access to our facilities to employees only for a two-week period.  This is an effort to do our part to help prevent the spread of this virus.  We are also putting a freeze on new installations during this same timeframe.  However, there will be no changes to the services we provide, and we will continue to support our customers if there is a loss of service for any reason.  Our customer service personnel will screen customers prior to dispatching a technician for down service to ensure there is no risk to exposing our employees to the virus.  We will continue to monitor this situation with the CDC and the Indiana State Department of Health, as well as state and local officials, to see if we need to make changes to this policy or extend it.

We realize this may be an inconvenience to some of you that are used to coming into our office to pay your bills or sign-up for service.  First, we are extending our normal due date by two weeks.  Again, this could change depending on if the limited access is extended.  We also encourage our customers to subscribe to and utilize the SmartHub app to process your payments.  SmartHub is a secure access to your account and the instructions on how to download and use the app are included at the bottom of this notification.  Our office will continue to serve customers over the phone as well by calling 260-894-7161.

In the meantime, our hearts and thoughts go out to all of those that are affected by the virus and the impact it is having on our customers and their families, as well as the rest of our country.  Now is a time for us to unite and support our neighbors and communities as we all go through this and the uncertainty that exists.
